You know what they say, you wouldn’t want a steak that was nothing but bone, why would you want a woman that was? Her curves aren’t a curse. Her body is a blessing, her thighs are thunder and her hips are heaven. With all this being said, here is the list of trends for all my fellow dearest plus gals out there. Enjoy.
Plus size clothing 101
First of all, be confident about your body. This is the first and the most important trend. Next, forget about all those plus size do’s and don’ts, wear everything that makes you feel comfortable and look your best. Another important thing is to know your size. Measure your waist, your hips, your breasts, your neck, arms, thighs and bottom. Write it all down and carry it with you when you’re going shopping. This will help you with finding the right size, since a lot of plus sized women have troubles with always buying smaller sizes. Is it because they hope that they will fit that garment someday, or they think that it fits them, it doesn’t matter – always buy clothes that fit you! It is good to have goals, but try living in the present and appreciate your sexy curves. Speaking of sexy curves, emphasize your assets darling! One curvy lady like you must have something worth showing. Own it.
This may come as a surprise, but believe it or not, plus sized ladies can rock almost any type of dress out there. If you want to look classy and sophisticated at some formal event choose a lace dress. They are a huge hit for a while now and really give you that special summer child note. If you are into basic and classic, but elegant garments, knee length dress is the perfect dress for you. Long or short sleeved – it doesn’t matter, they are always trendy and you can combine them with any type of jewellery and shoes. Not to mention the variety of colours out there – countless. Oh, and what about those non-basic sundresses? Long, medium, doesn’t matter – they are swingy, strappy and soft and you really feel like you have no clothes on. Basically, everything except those mini and tight dresses is trendy and will definitely look fabulous on you.
This area depends entirely on you: are you a fan of skinny jeans or baggy ones? What about bootcuts? Yes, believe it or not, the 70s are coming back. This goes for all of you who are not much of a fan of skinny or baggy jeans, these are going to be a huge trend this season. On the other hand, if you like skinny jeans – wear them, nobody can tell you not to, trust me – they look amazing on plus sized women. The same goes for baggy or boyfriend ones.
There are so many different types of work combinations. If you are into tailored women’s suits, let me tell you great news – they are a huge trend right now. One great trick for wearing suits is contrasting colour combinations. You don’t need to wear a full black and white combination, spice it up with a red shirt for example. Also, the huge essential item this season is the pencil skirt. Especially the bright coloured ones. Wear your pencil skirt with a cool shirt, blazer and heels to instantly spice up your look.
Usually I would say that that would be it, but I have a few extra last minute pieces of advice for you: accessorize your outfits, don’t be afraid to spice them up a little bit with some bold shoes, since they will make you really fabulous, and feel free to play with your makeup and hairstyles – you wouldn’t believe how much of a change it can make. Rock these trends and try to be your best looking self.
